How is ECONO-CREASE different from
regular folder scoring?
1. Paper goes straight from the side guide of feed
table, into the first pair of rollers only, then into the
ECONO-CREASE. (This means virtually no loss of register
from the side guide.) Paper then drops into the
cross-carrier for folding in the right angle section or
onto the stacker for scoring only.
2. ECONO-CREASE has an extremely fine depth
adjustment. This precise control is needed to eliminate
cracking on web oven-dried stock with heavy ink coverage.
The depth adjustment on Stahl and MBO folders is straight
up and down (no gradual movement). Ours works with an
eccentric for a more precise adjustment.
3. Our score wheels are solid male and female dies,
similar to those found on heavy-duty Perfect Binder cover
feeders. However, we use a special manufacturing process
which eliminates any possibility of a lope in the score
(due to tightening the set screw). The end result:
virtually no difference between a letterpress matrix
scored sheet and an ECONO-CREASE scored sheet. Contact us
and ask for your free scored sample then compare it to
your most recent letterpress-scored job, and see if you
agree.
